"RAM" Prefix Code

To provide lightweight strength and corrosion resistance, RAM is made of marine grade Aluminium with a black powder coated finish, stainless steel hardware and 'rubber balls' - 'RAM' products are stiffer and stronger than their 'RAP' variants and typically used in more rugged applications.

"RAP" Prefix Code

Many of our 'RAM' products are available in a 'RAP' - composite variant. Our composite 'RAP' products are generally designed for lighter duty applications where keeping the weight of the mount low is a priority.

RAM® BALL SIZES

The weight limits below are a guide only. All factors in a planned mounting configuration should be considered to choose the most suitable ball size.

The most common ball size applications:

B Size - Action Cameras, Phones and Small Tablets
C Size - Medium - Large Tablets in Heavier Duty Applications
D Size - Heavy and Rugged Tablets and Laptops in Commercial Applications

The Locking GDS® Thin-Dock™ for Zebra ET401 & ET4x 8" with IntelliSkin® (RAM-GDS-DOCKL-ZE46PU) delivers a low-profile, 2.44"-deep design reinforced with a durable metal plate, ideal for applications where space is limited. This vehicle dock is purpose-built for the Zebra ET401, ET40, and ET45 8" enterprise tablets when used with an IntelliSkin® protective sleeve, ensuring a reliable, long-lasting mounting and charging solution. Engineered for efficiency, the Thin-Dock™ keeps your tablet powered through pogo pin contacts while docked, with power supplied via the dock’s USB Type-C connector. The design also maintains access to the tablet’s side scanning function, making it a strong fit for field service, warehousing, retail, transportation, and other data-capture environments. Because of its compact footprint, this dock does not support add-ons like the Zebra Expansion Back or PowerPack Battery. For mounting flexibility, the dock is compatible with both RAM® C and D size 4-hole AMPS pattern bases, ideal for pairing with a double socket arm to complete your vehicle or workstation setup.
